First impressions last, and sometimes for a lifetime.

Rightly or wrongly, people do make their initial, immediate, and unchanging assessment of you during your very first meeting.  How you carried yourself and communicated your ideas.  Whether you were warm and friendly or cold and proud.  Whether your clothes were clean and made you look smart and savvy, or they were old and made you look messy and frumpy.

People still tend to judge us by our appearance.

And, to a certain degree, they may be right.  Looks are by no means everything.  But how we do take care of ourselves and our bodies reflect who we are inside.  In a time of selfies, Instagram pics and non-stop chat and PM’s,  we are our own statement of who we are and what we stand for.  Our body is our brand.

Beyond image and appearance, our approach to our physicality does speak how we take care of ourselves.

If we don’t take care of our health, our physical weakness will affect our performance at work.  It will also limit the activities we spend with our loved ones.  Poor eating habits and lack of exercise can also reflect habits that may not turn out to be good in the long run, such as a workaholic lifestyle that sacrifices quality rest or binge eating to make us forget actual problems instead of looking for solutions.

On the other hand, a healthy body supported by healthy habits do show a more positive side of ourselves, one that can speak well to the people we deal with.  We have enough energy to do all the things on our plate.  We can handle the stress that comes our way.  Tapping into a wellspring of vitality makes us happy and optimistic, making us want to share with others.

The best life

And yes, being healthy and fit does make us look good and attractive, because it brings out the best in our physicality.

Well-being can be attained, and we don’t have to sacrifice either our health, our happiness, and our success to attain all three.  This blog is a journey towards reaching the ‘best body’ we can ever have.  We will discuss diet, exercise, sports, stress management, medical conditions, and even emotional well-being.

We will pull out all stops to have that kind of body that we can be proud of – the kind of body that can bring us to the best lifestyle we can enjoy.

And as people look at us and interact with us, it is the best brand of self-promotion that we can use to reach higher levels of success.
